The East Coast

First heading out of the city you will use  the Commerical highway the CE040 Washington Soares where has seen the emmence growth of the modern city over the last 8 years. It has the Iguatemi shopping mall at the start of the highway and is right at the heart of where the Brazilian middle class is vastly growing. right along the highway out of the city main heading towards all the East coast beaches you will find many superstores, shopping centres, restaurants, the City University, the excellent Kangalha Friday night parties and all the links the city to all the southern beaches of Ceara i.e. Porto Das Dunas, Prainha, Iguape, Aqua Belas, Morro Branco just to name a few and all the way down to the famous Canoa Quabrada!

Porto Das Dunas (15KM from Fortaleza).

Porto Das Dunas is now a very modern town with an even stronger presence of foreigners than anywhere else in the state. Here, along with Cumbuco, has seen the most of the successful development and with this also boast the most expensive areas against all the other coastal towns. The town is also strong for tourism and homes the biggest waterpark in latin America. The area also has good family designed condominiums.

Prainha (20KM)

When the new coastal road from Porto das Dunas was built to Prainha to link its access to Aquiraz, it put Prainha firmly on the map. Prainha (20KM from Fortaleza) is a beautiful beach and fishing village. The beach is also stunning and is equipped with beach barracas so you can enjoy typical dishes based on fishfoods and where you can rent buggy rides to enjoy miles of perfect beach and dunes. There is also craft center where you can buy various products of cotton, hand embroidered at attractive prices.

Eusebio

Eusebio (20KM from Fortaleza) is certainly worth a mention here as the area is proving to be one of the best investment opportunities in the region away from the beach. The town is seeing huge price increases in land and property due to its popularity, location and beautiful greenary sceanary. There are now some high quality new developments completed in Eusebio and a few more shortly on its way.

With a population of about 8,000, Eusebio is located 10 minutes in land from the ocean, on the south side of the city just off the excellent CE040 commerical highway with the many shopping superstores all along route. This gives Eusebio excellent quick access to many of the near beaches and direct access into the city.

The neighborhood of Eusebio is a true Brazilian middle class area and well known to be a safe peaceful town, with many millionaires also residing in the town. Primary, Eusebio contains many large farms and is centered by the beautiful fresh water lagoon. Also in the center of the town holds good infrastructure, with all shops and amenties that you would expect, Eusebio also homes the popular Go Kart race track.

Aquiraz

Iguape and Barro Preto (40KM)

A little further down the coast you come to the beach towns of Iguape and Barro Preto, which are nice peaceful towns with excellent beaches, no real crime areas or serious poverty. These areas also home some many big beautiful properties in good residential areas

Historic and famous for its natural beauty, Iguape stands out as one of the most attractive in the munciple of Aquiraz, often quite strong in local tourism, especially in times of holidays, carnivals and weekends

The tip of Iguape has fresh water, which offers a beautiful landscape, formed by abundant vegetation, mangroves and coconut palms. The beautiful fountains and springs of natural water provide moments of pleasure and freedom with beautiful baths enjoyed by local residents and day trippers

Caponga (60KM)

Caponga is a beach located in the Brazilian city of Cascavel in the state of Ceará. As a district, Caponga belongs to Cascavel and is located 60 kilometers from Fortaleza. Caponga also neighbours the beautiful beach of Aquas Belas which charms of much beauty and nature. The proximity of Fortaleza is a good option for those who want a little more quiet, but without becoming isolated from civilization. It is rich in natural beauty and has a good but basic infrastructure, with several small hotels.

Morro Branco (80KM)

Uruau (90KM)

Uruau is situated on the East coast of Ceara, slightly past an hour from Fortaleza and 10 minutes past Morro Branco and the city of Beberibe. Here you can enjoy the tranquility and warmth of nature, because, although growing, Uruau is a simple basic but a hospitable village surrounded by landscapes full of beautiful dunes and coconut trees.

The lagoa do Uruau (Marambaia Beach) is also part of Uruau scenery, surrounded by sand dunes this clean water lagoon is lost in its immense length. Also known of the Lake of Cumbe, the lagoon is part of a village of fishermen in Beberibe and at the same time, it is ideal for all water sports. In the sands, almost in the water, the tourist have available several beach bars to enjoy. With the scenery of the lake, considered one of the largest in the state of Ceara, is complete with mirrors water in funicle.
